Semi-Pro Ryan Faust fillling up his IQ:
MEDWAY, Maine — By virtue of his 129.43 mph, 5.24-second performance, Bob Bower was the first record-setting snowmobile drag racer at the new ice track at the East Branch Sno-Rovers Club on Sunday.
He didn’t expect to remain king for long.
“I am kind of hoping I will break it myself today,” the West Gardiner resident said Sunday of his record. “I knew it was a good run, but we found a bunch of little problems with my sled. I blew off a boost tube and I had a slight leak in a charge tube. It was pretty good for a first time.”
David Violette felt the same way.
Though a few small problems occurred, the club president was very pleased with Sunday’s drag races, the poker run Saturday and the number of people who attended both. About 1,000 people watched 83 racers Sunday and more than 100 sledders Saturday, with as many as 700 spectators that first day, he said.

From rockmaple.com: MIRABEL, Quebec (Jan. 18, 2010) — Any time you host a snowmobile race in the province of Quebec, the natives make a little extra effort to win in front of the home crowd. And when it’s a points race in front of a huge audience just outside Montreal, that effort goes up a notch.Although Mathieu Morin has gone on to achieve a great deal outside of his hometown of Val-D’Or, his desire to win at home has never been stronger. Morin swept the Pro finals over the weekend, as Rock Maple Racing (RMR) completed Round 3 (Pro and Semi-Pro teams) on the 2009-10 snocross schedule Sunday afternoon at XTown.
Last weekend’s race drew the top snocross riders in the eastern U.S. and Canada to the popular motocross venue. Sunday’s action was capped by a $2,250-to-win “Dash for Cash” for the Pro riders, won by Dave Allard of St. Felecien. With the top riders from SCM, CSRA and RMR, fans enjoyed plenty of aggressive, side-by-side racing both days.

CD definitely had some smoke at the 500
What to say about the I-500? Irode hard and walked away with 6 stitches, a ripped track, a bent sled, and a tetanus shot. This was my longest cross country race and I had a lot of different people telling me different things, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I rode really safe the first day and paid for it because I ended up 9th or something. The second day I was pretty pissed and was ready to throw it away in an effort to get a better time. I was down from the leader (D.J. Ekre) 7-something minutes and I didn’t see how it was possible to gain it back. Needless to say I went out the second day with vengeance. I rode hard and hung it out a lot of times. Leaving the last fuel stop i had 6 minutes on second place, about 7 miles from the finish something broke in my pipe

The MASTERS Circuit Hill may be different, but the names are the same when it comes to being crowned the “King of the Hill.” Pelkie, Michigan’s Wyler “Wild Man” Miller captured his 4th Pro Mod King of the Hill crown and Bessemer’s Matt Tingstad won his second Pro Stock King of the Hill. They both competed at this past weekend’s Winternationals Snowmobile Hillclimb at Whealkate Bluff in South Range, Michigan. There was plenty of drama to go around at Day 3 of the USCC Seven Clans Red Lake I-500 Presented by C&A Pro. One of the most grueling races on the planet was even more so this year as the USCC put together a 505-mile course that turned brutally rough on day 2 and day 3. Racers were challenged even more on Day 3 when overcast skies moved in. With flat light and a track that had softened during a 30-degree day then set up overnight, it was some tense going for most riders. Read on as we run through some highlights from Day 3 of the I-500.

Arctic Cat riders D.J. Ekre, Ryan Huston (pictured), Cory Davis and Dan Ebert led the field out on Day 3 and set a blistering pace.

Andy Lieders gets his ticket punched for Winter X
Andy Lieders’ breakout season on the ACSS trail couldn’t have come at a better time. With most of the eligible Polaris pro riders under contract, Lieders became the logical choice for Hentges Racing to fill the X-Games slot left open when team rider TJ Gulla went down at the opening round at Spirit Mountain. The Colby, Wisconsin native is coming off a win in Semi-Pro Stock at the ACSS round in Utah and was 5th in his Pro debut at last weekends Eagle River World Championships
