USCC Red Lake I-500 Notes From Day 3

There was plenty of drama to go around at Day 3 of the USCC Seven Clans Red Lake I-500 Presented by C&A Pro. One of the most grueling races on the planet was even more so this year as the USCC put together a 505-mile course that turned brutally rough on day 2  and day 3. Racers were challenged even more on Day 3 when overcast skies moved in. With flat light and a track that had softened during a 30-degree day then set up overnight, it was some tense going for most riders. Read on as we run through some highlights from Day 3 of the I-500.

Arctic Cat riders D.J. Ekre, Ryan Huston (pictured), Cory Davis and Dan Ebert led the field out on Day 3 and set a blistering pace.

Knwing Davis and Ekre were out and having passed Huston, Ebert entered the third fuel stop thinking he was in the lead. While stopped for fuel, his crew confirmed his thoughts.

A nearly flawless run on Day 3 combined with attrition put Dan Ebert on top of the box and also put $10,000 in his pocket. That will pay for a lot of college tuition.
