Yellowstone Releases 2012 Draft Winter Use Plan

Yellowstone National Park has released its 2012 Draft Winter Use Plan. The plan outlines how many sleds and snowcoaches can enter the park each day and also states that Sylvan Pass between Cody, WY and the park’s interior will remain open and will continue to be managed by the Sylvan Pass working group. It also states that best available technology (BAT) regarding sound and emission requirements for snowmobiles would remain the same as the BAT requirements for the 2011-2012 interim regulation until the 2017-2018 winter season, at which time revised sound and air emission requirements would be implemented.
