Welcome to sledRacer.com, the one-stop source for all news, results and stories from the world of snowmobile racing. My name is Jim Urquhart and I started this Web site as a place where racers and fans can share news and opinions regarding the snowmobile racing world.
Just so you know where all this stuff is coming from, I’d like to share a few things about myself and my background. I’ve worked in the snowmobile industry for over 10 years and have worked for and/or written for just about every snowmobile magazine out there (even one in Russia!). I was also editor of SNO-X Magazine for its entire 6-year run, I’ve worked for the WSA/WPSA and currently work in various roles with the USCC and a handful of racers and teams. In my role as a snowmobile journalist I’ve also had the privilege to ride just about every new snowmobile built in the past 10 years. As for racing, I’ve dabbled in snocross and cross-country and finished the I-500 twice. I hope it doesn’t sound arrogant when I say this, but I take the world of snowmobiles very seriously, this is what I do and I try to do it the best I can (and in the process better than anyone else).
So now you know who’s behind sledRacer.com. I’m a one-man show and part of my success is dependent upon you. This site is here to serve snowmobile racing, so feel free to send me whatever you have that people might want to see or read and I’ll do my best to get it posted or find some other outlet for it. If you have something cool you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you see me at the races feel free to say “hi.”
See you at the track!
